Rebecca's Baby Shower Hop

Welcome to Rebecca's Baby Shower Hop. If you came from Tami's blog then you are on the right track. If you just happen to stumble upon our hop go to Lisa Peters and start from the beginning so you get to see all the great layouts that we have made for her new baby's album.

All us ladies have been asked to make 12 x 12 layouts so that she can present them to her daughter. We are all so excited that we can be a part of this great event.
So for my first two page I decide to make one page for Mom and one page for dad. Her nursery is going to be Winnie the Pooh so I just couldn't resist adding the little fellow to my page. I also had two great poems that describes the love a mom and dad have for a child.

Thanks for stopping by . Your next stop will be to see what great page Lisa T  had made. I have also listed the entire hop incase you get lost along the way.
Don't forget to stop back by tomorrow and hop along again with us.

Friendship's Garden Challenge

The latest challenge over at Friendship's Garden is a Valentine Theme and there is a sketch to go with it.
Here is the sketch and don't forget "NO STAMPED IMAGES" allowed on this blog...
You can flip it, turn it or just leave the sketch how it is. The Garden Girls will get your juices flowing with some great cards and them you can make your own and play along...

Now to show you my card.....

I decided to turn the sketch upside down. I first covered the card with heart vellum and let it hang over just a little. Then I added these cute hearts and attached them with brads and thread. The sentiment and the cute little "Love Birds" I picked up at Micheal's . I added the button just because and called it done... Turned out cute...don't you think !!
Thanks for stopping by no scoot on over to Friendship's Garden and join the fun !!!

Welcome Everyone, Thank you for stopping by to visit my blog. We have a group of very talented crafty people from all over the world who can't wait to share their awesome spaces with you.
We hope to inspire you with new ideas for your own craftroom/space.
This is a no obligation hop, so if you would like to just browse through the space's, that is totally ok!
This hop will be open all weekend long! So no rush!
However, for those of you who like freebies there will be "blog candy" if you follow and comment on each posting and leave a comment with "your best organizational tip" on Lluvia's blog your name will entered in a random drawing to win a $25.00 gift card from Michaels!!! Winner will be announced on Tuesday 1/24/12
Ready, Set, Go!
If your craft room is like mine it is always changing. Sometimes I just can't pass up anything at the thrift store that can be transformed into something great in my space. Here are a few pics of some stuff I really like for you to see in my room. Then you can watch the video of the whole room.
First is this great desk that I just finished. I painted it, destressed it and also used glaze on it. I had the best time doing this and it really went well. I'm so happy with how it turned out that cute little stool is next..LOL
Also, beside the desk is a box that holds my white paper and page protectors. I purchase that at a thrift store. It is a box for an old record player. The only thing that was inside was sheets of music so I glued them onto the box with Modge Podge... Love it !!

The next thing I want to show you is my idea of a great organization idea. As you see the stickle bottles are hanging upside down. I got my husband to cut me pieces of metal and I glued them to the shelves. Then I want to the craft store and bought round magnets with a sticky back and stuck them to the bottem of the bottles. Now the air never gets in my stickles...... Perfect !!!
Just make sure you use the right metal that magnets stick too. Only steel, and mine was cut on really thin steel so that it doesn't add any weight to my shelf.
Ok, those are the two things I really want to show you up close. Please watch my little video to see pics of the whole room. Feel free to ask any questions!!!

PSC14: Inspiration Sympathy Challenge

Perfect Sentiments Challenges... The challenge this week was to create a card with a sentiment of
Sympathy
The twist was to use the following picture for inspiration.
When I look at this picture I see the line of the waters edge that curves. The tree just melts away but that wiggly, curvy line just jumps out at me. So I use it in my card.
I used a plain white card, some paper from my stash that looks like water . The lines were there but it needed something else. So, I had found this awesome earing at Goodwill last week and I knew I could find a use for it..... The sentiment was stamped and then I put glue on it and sprinkled some glitter to make it pop.... Thanks for stopping .................Sam

CAS Challenge with the Garden Girls !!!

Clean and Simple was the challenge over at Friendship's Garden and I know the Garden Girls have pulled out all the stops to make something awesome to share with us.
When I thought about the words" Clean and Simple" I think of a card that is easy and fast. So off to the scrap table I went.
I used white cardstock to make the card. I used Tattered Angel Glimmer Mist (Puerto Rico) to give it a little splash. The petels of the flower were chipboard and I inked the edges and put the sentiment in the middle with pop dots to  give it some pop..LOL
For the ribbon I put some ribbon glue across the bottem of the card and started looping the ribbon . The little clothes pin was sitting on my craft table and it just had to be added....
I hope you like it.....
Now don't forget to hop on over to Friendship's Garden and check out all the other Garden Girls inspiration and then join the challenge with us and a chance to win great gift from
Altered Angel.

What are little boys made of?
Snips and snails, and puppy dogs tails
That's what little boys are made of!"

...This fun blog hop is to showcase all things Boy. Come join us as we display creations that show each person's interpretation of
Boy Oh Boy!

Your hostess for this hop is Jearise and she is so happy to have you as part of this hop. She'll pick one lucky person to receive a $10 gift card to Joann's Fabric and Craft. You must do two things to be eligible: take the time to hop through all the blogs and then let her know that they have done so and also become a follower of LORBY'S WORLD.

So if you have discovered this hop by chance, please start with Jearise and continue through our list of blogs but if you've come from Jenny's blog then you're on the right track. Yay!

Now for my project, I was going through some boxes and found the cardboard that has the hangers on it that you would use on the back of a picture frame.
These little hooks just gave me an idea. I cut it so that I would have two pieces of 6x6 with the hooks.
I made an album of some pictures of my husband with he was little.
Here is the front. I use a screw, some wire and a cute little sentiment.
And on the back I put the hook on the left and attached this cute little tag. " Know Your Root"
I used Heritage Collection Paper from FabScraps for all the pages on the inside.

I hope my husband likes it cause I LOVE IT !!!

Thank you for joining us today and now you can skip a dee doo dah on over to Linda T..
If you get lost along the way here is the whole lineup to get you back on course.

This is a Bonus week at Friendship's Garden and the challenge is to make a

ATC
(aka Artists Trading Card)
With a vintage children's theme!

Artists Trading cards have been popular for a long time, and the styles and types are as varied as the 'artists' who make them! If you aren't familiar with them, the main 'rule' is that it must be the size of a playing card - 2 1/2" x 3 1/2". I've included some links where you can find out more about them HERE, HERE, and HERE.

So you have one week to make your ATC(s) and get them linked up. As usual with 'bonus week' challenges, if you make one that just blows the Garden Girls away, we will feature you and possibly invite you to be guest designer on a future challenge.

I found a wonderful (free) vintage little girl and used some paper and embelishment that I had in my stash to make this cute little card..

And remember ... this is a NO STAMPING ZONE! You can use small stamped accents or a sentiment, but the main image or focus of your ATC's can not be stamped! If you use a digi-stamp, it must be pre-colored, and not one that you colored yourself.
Now, get busy and make some ATC's, they really are addictive to make so if you make more than one, that is fine, too!!!
